Two arrested after police seize cocaine in Grand Manan: N.B. RCMP

The New Brunswick RCMP arrested a man and woman from New Brunswick over the weekend following a drug seizure in Grand Manan.

Police say officers conducting a check point on Route 776 on Sunday noticed contraband cigarettes in a vehicle with three people inside.

Officers searched the vehicle and those inside and seized what is believed to be cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

A 44-year-old man from Grand Manan and a 39-year-old woman from Utopia, N.B., were arrested at the scene.

They were both later released on conditions and will appear in Saint John provincial court at a later date.

The third person was released at the scene, according to an RCMP news release.
