Wanted federal inmate arrested in wooded area for drug trafficking: Saint John police

The Saint John Police Force says it arrested three people last week, including a wanted federal inmate, in connection with a two-month drug trafficking investigation.

Police allege those arrested were living in a wooded area of Saint John and trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Officers also seized the following items, according to a news release from the force:

  • a loaded sawed-off shotgun
  • a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle
  • a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl (with a street value of more than $37,000)
  • a bullet proof vest
  • Canadian currency

Jennifer Ross, 44, appeared in court and was released with a future court date.

She has been charged with possession of cocaine and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Bruce Marion, 49, remains in custody.

He has been charged with:

  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
  • possession of a firearm contrary to an order
  • being unlawfully at large
  • possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of property obtained by crime

Steven Cyr, 42, was scheduled to appear in provincial court for a bail hearing on Monday.

He has been charged with:

  • possession of a firearm contrary to an order
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • possession of a firearm contrary to an order
