A 51-year-old woman from South Nelson, N.B., has died following a single all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash in Barnaby River, N.B.
Officers responded to a report of a single side-by-side crash on Semiwagon Road on Monday around 5:30 p.m., according to a news release from RCMP.
Police say the crash occurred when the driver of the ATV lost control of his vehicle and rolled several times.
The only passenger, a 51-year-old woman, was ejected from the ATV and died at the scene as a result of her injuries, says the release.
The driver was treated on scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Miramichi Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, the RCMP Forensic Collision Analyst Team, and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist also attended the scene.
A member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office is assisting with the ongoing investigation and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the man’s exact cause of death.
