Three teens are facing charges following two robbery incidents at Canadian Tire stores in the Halifax area. The Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of theft at the Canadian Tire store at 194 Chain Lake Drive around 2:55 p.m. Friday. “Staff reported two males and a female came into the store and broke into a display case containing BB guns. The two males stole multiple BB guns and all three suspects fled on foot prior to police arrival,” reads a news release from the Halifax Regional Police. The next afternoon, police responded to a weapons incident at that Canadian Tire on Lamont Terrace in Dartmouth. Staff reported two males and a female unsuccessfully attempted to break into a display case containing BB guns, according to police. “While attempting to flee, the female sprayed a staff member with a sensory irritant before exiting the store. Officers quickly located and arrested all three suspects on scene without incident,” reads the release. A K9 member found the canister of sensory irritant police believe was used at the Dartmouth store. The Halifax Regional Police says the investigation led them to determine the three suspects in custody were the same people involved in the theft at the Chain Lake store. Garik Johnny, 18, was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court Monday to face charges of robbery and disguise with intent.
