42-year-old N.S. man dead after motorcycle crash in Head of Chezzetcook

A 42-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Head of Chezzetcook, N.S., on Saturday night.

Police say a traffic officer spotted a motorcycle travelling eastbound above the posted speed limit on Highway 7 around 11:40 p.m. The officer activated their emergency equipment, but then turned it off when the motorcycle continued to accelerate, according to an RCMP news release.

“The officer continued eastbound, where he observed the motorcycle in the ditch and the driver lying in the roadway,” the release reads.

The driver from Ostrea Lake, N.S., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is helping with the investigation.
