Janice Landry is a former reporter with ATV – CTV’s predecessor in the Maritimes – and the author of seven books. Her latest, “Every Little Thing: How Small Acts of Kindness Make a Big Impact,” carries a positive message about appreciation.
Landry wrote the book for her husband Rob Dauphinee and their daughter Laura because they were there for her in “little and big ways” during a difficult chapter in Landry’s life. In 2023 she got very sick after being diagnosed with Lyme disease.
“I was floored,” Landry said. She went to the doctor after she developed rashes in a few spots on her body.
“She said you have Lyme. You could have knocked me over with a feather.”
Landry said she’s an outdoor person who likes to golf and garden. She said Lyme disease needs to be taken seriously.
“Just check yourself,” she said. “I didn’t do that as much as I should have.”
Landry said she’s okay after treatment and she doesn’t want to scare anyone but checking for ticks is an easy way to prevent serious illness.
“I was so sick that literally, on my worst day, I could not wash my face and brush my teeth,” she said. “Laura and Rob were there for me. They had my back when I was at my worst.”
Landry said nobody does anything without the help of a lot of people and her appreciation is the inspiration for “Every Little Thing.”
