Tracy and Martina are comedians who celebrate east coast culture with a comedic twist.
With their larger-than-life characters, they bring humor to everyday maritime experiences, blending exaggerated accents, over-the-top fashion, and relatable stories.
New episodes of their podcast release every Tuesday with season four coming soon.
“It has really taken off. We have been doing this for a couple of years now and you know what, this year finally feels like were getting a ton of followers. A lot of different people are listening and it’s really nice,” says Tracy.
Tracy says the duo have received a lot of comments recently from Newfoundland and Ireland. She thinks it’s because of the similar culture.
“I think it is a similar culture and I never really thought about it, but when you put two and two together, a lot of people from Cape Breton originally came from over there right,” says Tracy.
“We released an Instagram video, and it went viral, and it was about Newfoundlanders vs Cape Bretoners, and they really took to that,” says Martina.
The podcast features guests like Halifax singer-songwriter Rita Mae and the Trailor Park Boys.
“We got a manager this year which is nice. He hooked us up with a lot of awesome guests,” says Tracy.
The duo says they are happy to see how their comedy has brought positivity and a good laugh to people’s lives.
“During the pandemic we were doing the live streams all of the time and people would comment like ‘I love that you are doing this and making me laugh’. So we said, ‘you know what let’s do a podcast’ and it just turns out that the world is nuts right now. So I think people really take to that,” says Martina.
The duo is also hosting a “Galentine’s Day Bingo” on Valentine’s Day at the Sea Horse Tavern in Halifax.
“It’s a dream come true, were that happy with everything and how life is going right now,” says Tracy.
