Police in Cape Breton are searching for a man wanted in connection with vandalism to a number of trees on Charlotte Street in Sydney, N.S., last summer.
Cape Breton Regional Police said a number of newly planted trees and their decorative lights were broken on the early morning hours of Aug. 11 in a Wednesday news release. The damage totaled more than $10,000.
Police said they identified 25-year-old Gregory Joseph Daisley as the person responsible with help from video surveillance and information from the public.
Daisley has been charged with mischief, breach of probation, and several breaches of court-ordered release conditions. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest.
Police say Daisley, who is from Ingonish, N.S., is known to reside in other parts of the province.
Cape Breton Regional Police is asking anyone with information on Daisley’s location to contact them at 902-563-5151, or though Crime Stoppers.
The investigation is ongoing.
