Fentanyl worth $15,000 seized during well-being check on children: New Glasgow police

Police made a significant drug seizure in New Glasgow, N.S., earlier this week during a well-being check on children.

New Glasgow Police and family services went to a home on Dalcrombie Drive just before 3 p.m. Monday.

Police say officers saw drug paraphernalia and seized the following:

• 59.5 grams of fentanyl
• Five grams of psilocybin (also known as magic mushrooms)

It is estimated the fentanyl has an approximate street value of $15,000.

Police say children were present at the time of the well-being check and were removed from the home.

New Glasgow Police continues to investigate.
