A fire at the Nova Scotia Hospital in Dartmouth, N.S., Monday morning started from a dryer, according to fire crews.

Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency responded to the hospital grounds around 7:30 a.m.

District Three Chief Steve Bussey says the fire, which was located on the first floor of the laundry building, was under control by 9:45 a.m.

No one was injured and no other parts of the hospital were damaged, according to Bussey.

Nova Scotia Health says the incident is expected to impact the facility’s linen supply, including sheets and scrubs.

“We do not have exact details on how long or how much this will affect said supply,” reads an email from Keith Corcoran, communications advisor with Nova Scotia Health.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
