‘Suspicious man’ allegedly offered gifts, money to teens to get in vehicle: Halifax police

Halifax Regional Police is searching for a “suspicious man” who allegedly approached a group of teenage girls Wednesday afternoon.

Police say four teen girls were in the 300 block of Herring Cove Road around 12:45 p.m. when a man they did not know approached them.

The force says the man complimented the girls on their appearance and offered them gifts and money to get inside his vehicle.

“The group declined and left the area. They reported the incident to a trusted adult who then reported the incident to police,” reads a news release from Halifax Regional Police.

Police describe the man as about 30-years old and approximately five-foot-eight, with a slender build and dark facial hair.

The vehicle is described as a white Lincoln SUV with tinted windows, according to the news release.

Halifax Regional Police also released images of the man and vehicle they believe were involved in the incident.
