Home sales down slightly across Nova Scotia compared with last year

The Nova Scotia Association of Realtors says despite changes in this year's spring housing market, it's still "relatively stable."

There are a few differences in Nova Scotia’s housing market compared with last year.

New listings are up seven per cent, according to the Nova Scotia Association of Realtors.

The average price of homes sold in the province in June was $481,384.

This average is down 1.6 per cent from last year, and even further in the Halifax area, which is down three per cent.

Average home prices in the Yarmouth region are down 10 per cent, but in the South Shore region prices are up 8.5 per cent.

The association says while that may not look like the typical spring market, it’s still “relatively balanced.”
