House goes up in flames along Nova Scotia’s south shore

A house went up in flames Saturday night along Nova Scotia’s South Shore.

A house went up in flames Saturday night along Nova Scotia’s South Shore.

Firefighters were called to the 7000 block of Highway 3 in Martins Point around 9:30 p.m. The highway was shut down while crews battled the fire.

Video posted on social media showed the entire house engulfed in flames. No one was home at the time.

The Western Shore and District Fire Department said the structure was considered vacant and may have been under construction.

There were no injuries reported.

Crews were on scene for approximately five hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
