JRDN and Classified reunite: Fifteen years after hit song, they ‘Feel Something’ again

Published:

Musicians JRDN and Classified have reunited to release the song “Feel Something.”

It has been well over a decade since Jordan Croucher, better known as JRDN, made his mark on the Canadian music scene. Now, with his latest track called “Feel Something,” the Halifax-born artist is proving that some collaborations only get better with time.

Fifteen-years ago, JRDN and fellow East Coast artist Classified teamed up for “Feelin’ Fine” – a song that became a defining moment in JRDN’s career.

“That was the beginning of our relationship and friendship,” JRDN recalls. “And we’re still here.”

The song was more than just a hit – it was a milestone.

“It was the first time I ever heard myself on the radio,” JRDN says. “It was really, really special.”

Even today, “Feelin’ Fine” continues to resonate with fans.

“I was just at Parkview School yesterday and a kid came up to me talking about, ‘Yo, my dad still bumps that.’”

Now, he and Classified are back in the studio together for “Feel Something” – their first collaboration of this kind in 15 years.

“I think it’s just about feeling the ups, the downs, the highs, the lows within a relationship,” JRDN says. “Rather feel something than nothing at all, right?”

For Classified, the reunion was about making sure the song lived up to their legacy.

“It took us five days before we were like, ‘OK, I think we got something,’” he says. “It was a lot of trial and error, but every time I hear the song now, it still feels great. It was worth it.”

More than just a creative partnership, Classified says JRDN’s passion makes him an ideal collaborator.

“Jordan’s very similar to someone like David Myles,” he says. “People I like to work with, they’ve got energy. You see him get excited about a song, he’s up, jumping around … and that’s motivation for me.”

The pair isn’t just back in the studio – they’re also back on the road. JRDN, Classified, and their all-star East Coast crew have been bringing their “Welcome to the Maritimes Tour” across the country.

“It felt like yesterday, like we were back in 2007 and just starting out,” JRDN says.

Now, they’re preparing for the final stop – a homecoming show in Halifax in March.

“Honestly, it’s just a bunch of friends hanging out and enjoying each other’s time, and giving the fans a piece of us.”

The “Welcome to the Maritimes Tour” wraps up on March 14 at The Lighthouse Arts Centre in Halifax.
