Lunenburg woman dies after Jeep crashes into tree, lands on roof: N.S. RCMP

A 31-year-old woman died after a single-vehicle crash near Lunenburg, N.S., on Sunday.

A 31-year-old woman has died after the vehicle she was driving left the road and landed on its roof in Lilydale, N.S.

Lunenburg District RCMP, along with firefighters and paramedics, responded to the single-vehicle crash on Highway 324 around 11:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police say officers believe a Jeep Compass was travelling southbound when it left the road, struck a tree and overturned onto its roof.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a woman from Lunenburg, N.S., died at the scene. Her name has not been released.

A section of Highway 324 was closed for several hours.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation.
