Police responded to a report of a man in possession of a firearm who had allegedly assaulted a woman in a home on Wyman Road around 11:20 p.m. Monday.

The woman and another male occupant were able to exit the home safely, according to an RCMP news release.

When officers arrived, police say the man, who was the only person in the home, barricaded himself in a room and refused to come out.
