A man is facing charges after an armed robbery at a hotel in Bridgewater, N.S., Monday morning.
Bridgewater Police Service responded to a 911 call about an armed robbery at the Bridgewater Hotel on High Street around 10 a.m.
Police say the suspect was wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet and armed with a hammer when he entered the hotel.
The suspect then allegedly confronted the front counter staff and forced his way into a cash drawer.
Police say some items were stolen from the hotel, but no cash was taken.
A staff member suffered minor injuries during the incident.
Bridgewater Police Service says the suspect fled the scene through a rear door toward Heckman Avenue where he got into a small blue SUV.
Police found and arrested two adults from Bridgewater the next morning. They also searched a home and a vehicle as part of their investigation.
Shane Douglas Langille is facing the following charges:
- armed robbery
- disguise with intent
- possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- damage to property
Langille was scheduled to appear in Bridgewater provincial court Wednesday morning.
Police did not say whether the second person they arrested is facing charges.
