Woman charged with attempted murder in Truro stabbing: police

Nova Scotia police say they have charged a 26-year-old woman with attempted murder after a 33-year-old man was stabbed in Truro.

Officers responded to a report that a male had been stabbed at a residence on Ford Street on Friday around 8:11 p.m., according to a Facebook post from the Truro Police Service.

On arriving, police say they located the male with serious injury and was transported to hospital for further treatment.

A 26-year-old female was arrested on scene without incident and charged with attempted murder and violation of a court order prohibiting her to have contact with the victim from a previous case, says the post.

The accused will be remanded into custody and will appear in court at a later date.

The Truro Police Service Criminal Investigation Division and the Truro Police Service Forensic Identification Section say they have taken the lead on this investigation of Intimate Partner Violence.

The name of the accused is being withheld until their first court appearance, says the post.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say further charges are possible.
