A man was stabbed from behind while walking in Dartmouth, N.S., early Saturday morning.
Halifax Regional Police (HRP) said officers were called to Rayna Lane, which is near Wyse and Boland roads, around 1:40 a.m. They found a man lying on the ground suffering from stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital, where police said his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.
Police said the victim described the attack as being ‘unprovoked.’
“He was walking along the sidewalk when he was stabbed from behind. While he did not see who stabbed him, he does describe seeing a man after the attack with a goatee and black hoodie with a yellow stripe. Police would like to speak to that man,” read a news release Saturday.
Police are asking anyone with video or dashcam footage from the areas of the Nantucket bus terminal, Wyse Road, Boland Road, and Rayna Lane between 12:30 and 2 a.m. to contact investigators.
Anyone with information can contact HRP at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
