Man, woman charged after $60K worth of cocaine seized from home: Cape Breton police

A woman and a man are facing charges after police search a Cape Breton home last week.

Cape Breton Regional Police say they stopped a vehicle in a rural area of Morrison Road on Friday, seized cocaine and arrested the driver and passenger.

Officers then executed a search warrant at a home on Ellsworth Avenue in New Waterford.

Police say they seized more than 500 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $60,000, as well as more than $3,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Kenneth William Gracie, 44, and 35-year-old Leanne Faye Rich, both of New Waterford, are charged with:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine
• possession of property obtained by crime

They were both scheduled to appear in Sydney provincial court Monday.
