Nova Scotia Health is issuing another drug warning for users in the province.

The health authority says it has received reports from community partners of “unexpected reactions” to crack in the West Hants area.

It’s suspected the crack contains meth.

Nova Scotia Health says it has also received reports of unexpected reactions to crack and ice blocks/meth in the West Hants area.

That drug is suspected to contain an opioid or benzo based on users’ reactions.

“Drugs from the unregulated supply (“street” supply) are unpredictable – you don’t know what is in them and you don’t know how strong they are. Sometimes, stimulants like cocaine are contaminated with an opioid or benzos. What you think is crack is actually meth,” reads a post on Nova Scotia Health’s Facebook page.

Last week, a warning was issued about a strong synthetic opioid found in the province for the first time.

The opioid is described as “two times more powerful than fentanyl.”

A sample taken from the Amherst area was found mixed with fentanyl, cocaine, xylazine, caffeine and a tranquilizer.
