Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck a youth in a crosswalk in Cole Harbour, N.S., Wednesday morning.
The RCMP received a report about the collision at the intersection of Cole Harbour Road and Perron Drive around 8 a.m.
Police learned a red SUV was travelling east on Cole Harbour Road around 7:20 a.m. when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road in a marked and illuminated crosswalk near the intersection.
“The vehicle stopped and the driver asked the pedestrian if they were okay, but then failed to remain at the scene,” said the RCMP in a news release.
The pedestrian, a youth from Cole Harbour, suffered minor injuries.

Police are now trying to track down the driver of the SUV, who is described as a white woman in her 50s. They have also released two photos of the vehicle.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the collision, especially the SUV’s licence plate number, or anyone with dashcam footage from the area to contact police at 902-490-502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
