A 21-year-old woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle in Halifax late Monday afternoon.
Halifax Regional Police responded to the collision at the corner of Robie Street and Veterans Memorial Lane at 5:47 p.m.
Police said Monday the pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. They released an update Tuesday morning, confirming the woman has since died.
No other details about the woman have been released at this time.
Man arrested for dangerous driving
Shortly after the collision Monday, police learned the same vehicle had been involved in another crash near Beech Street and Jubilee Road.
Video from the scene revealed a car crashed into the back of a parked vehicle on the side of the road. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
The adult male was arrested for dangerous operation of a conveyance. There is no word on whether he is facing additional charges, or whether that charge might be upgraded, at this time.
“With the investigation ongoing, I cannot provide any further information at this time,” HRP Const. Martin Cromwell told CTV News in an email.
