Police are investigating a suspicious death in North End Halifax.
Around 7 p.m. Friday, police said officers found an injured woman lying on the roadway near Gottingen and Bloomfield streets. The 40-year-old woman was given first aid on scene before being taken to hospital where she died of her injuries.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of her death.
Police said the investigation is in its early stages and more information will be released as it becomes available.
