Halifax Regional Police is searching for two people in connection with an armed robbery in the city earlier this week.

Police responded to a report of a man with a knife in the 2300 block of Hunter Street just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, two people were walking to their vehicle when they were approached by two men they did not know.

“One of the men demanded their keys, assaulted one of the victims, and then produced a knife as the fight continued,” reads a news release from police.

“The victims were able to fight the man off and both suspects fled the area in a different vehicle.”

Police say there were no reported injuries during the incident.

One of the suspects is described as a man, about five-foot-seven, who was dressed in all black with a black hat.

The second suspect is described as about five-foot-eleven, wearing a black leather jacket and a grey hoodie with the hood up and pulled tightly around his face.

The force says the suspects fled the scene in a black Volkswagen Jetta with tinted windows and a Nova Scotia licence plate attached to the back.

Police are asking anyone with information or video from the area to call them at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
