A portion of Highway 102 near Halifax Stanfield International Airport was shut down by Nova Scotia RCMP Saturday.

Police said officers were searching for a female who was seen walking on the highway.

The highway was closed shortly after 1:30 p.m. at Exit 6. At the time of the closure, police said it was part of an “ongoing investigation.”

Police had asked people to avoid the area. They said there was no risk to the public.

Around 4 p.m. RCMP reopened the highway.
