Second person charged with Pictou County man’s murder

A second person has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a Nova Scotia man’s death.

Steven Boudreau, 61, was reported missing from Hopewell in Pictou County on April 19.

Police say he was last seen on Elgin Road around 5 p.m. the day before.

Investigators determined the circumstances of Boudreau’s disappearance were suspicious, and the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit took the lead in the investigation.

His remains were found in May.

Cody Reid Palmer, 29, was arrested in Torbrook and charged with first-degree murder on May 20.

Police continued their investigation and arrested another man on Monday.

Travis Shaun Jennings of Kings County was arrested at a home in East Dalhousie.

The 36-year-old was also charged with first-degree murder.

Jennings appeared in Kentville provincial court on Monday and remains in custody.

Police say he is also charged with kidnapping as part of the investigation and a different victim is associated with the charge.
