The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating after a man was struck by a vehicle being driven by an off-duty Halifax Regional Police (HRP) officer in Porters Lake, N.S.
An off-duty HRP officer struck a male who was standing next to a truck on the side of the Myra Road Friday afternoon, according to a news release.
The male was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

Impaired driving has been ruled out, says the release.
“Due to the serious injury sustained by the male, SiRT has assumed responsibility for this investigation,” says the release.
SiRT says they are now looking for individuals who may have been travelling on Myra Road on Friday between 12:40 p.m. and 12:55 p.m. and are in possession of dash camera footage.
Anyone who may have footage or witnessed a collision on Myra Road is asked to contact the investigator at (902) 943-2337.
