Prince Edward Island RCMP arrest two people in Summerside, seize drugs

RCMP in Prince Edward Island arrested two people and seized “a great deal of harmful drugs” in Summerside Thursday morning.

Prince District Joint Forces Operations arrested a 50-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, both from Summerside, while executing a search warrant at a residence in the city, according to a news release from the force.

Police say the following items were seized during the search:

-cash

-249 grams of cocaine – approximately half pound

-920 grams of crystal meth – just over two pounds

-438 ice/speed pills

-874 hydromorphone pills

-58 unidentified pills

-scales, baggies, replica handgun

“This is a significant seizure that takes a great deal of harmful drugs out of our communities,” said Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis, the commanding officer of the P.E.I. RCMP, in the news release.

The investigation is ongoing.
