As one of the former stars of MTV Jackass, Stephen Glover – known to fans as Steve-O – has built his career on chaos.
“I can’t even believe I’m still alive,” he said in an interview with CTV Atlantic’s Katie Kelly. “I don’t think anybody can.”
The 50-year-old stunt performer-turned-comedian brings his Crash and Burn tour to the Maritimes, delivering a multimedia comedy show.
“I’m telling outrageous and implausible stories and jokes,” he said. “The punchlines and the payoffs come in the form of video receipts.”
While past tours have teased high-stakes antics – including live vasectomy stunts and anesthesia-fueled challenges – this time around, he’s kept the surprises under wraps.
“I’ve really moved mountains to make tremendously huge things happen. And nobody knows what those things are,” he said.

Though many fans associate Steve-O with pain and daredevil antics, he says it’s not about adrenaline – it’s about attention.
“It’s not that I have a big threshold for pain,” he said. “I just have a desire for attention, which outweighs my desire for comfort.”
The show also marks a new chapter for Steve-O, who has been open about his journey through addiction and recovery. While sobriety isn’t a central focus this time, the show still carries emotional weight.
“I think the theme of this show is about me confronting middle age. It’s a little bit of a midlife crisis show,” he said. “And if there’s a message, it’s that there’s hope for the future.”
Steve-O performs in Glace Bay, N.S., on Thursday, Saint John, N.B., on Friday and Halifax on Saturday.
