Police in Barrie say officers arrested a man and a woman with a history of committing crimes across Ontario following a report of a theft at a store in the city’s south end.

Police say the theft at a box store on Tuesday afternoon was captured on closed circuit television cameras, noting some power tools were taken. Officers arrived quickly and took a 44-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman into custody without incident.

Local authorities claim the two accused have “a lengthy history” of thefts together from across the province.

The accused face a combined total of 14 charges, including court-related offences.
