Allegedly stolen vehicle uncovered during snow removal efforts in Barrie parking lot

Police in Barrie say a stolen vehicle was uncovered during snow removal operations.

While crews are working around the clock to clean up the city after days of snow and squalls, police say “it’s amazing” what’s hidden beneath the heavy blanket of snowfall.

On Wednesday morning, police say they were contacted about a parked vehicle that was impeding snow removal efforts in a parking lot behind a Dunlop Street East establishment.

Police say they discovered the abandoned vehicle had been reported stolen in Toronto last week.

Once it was uncovered, the white GMC sport utility vehicle was towed to be stored. “The reporting police service was notified,” Barrie police added.
