CTV Barrie’s Rob Cooper says there is still an ‘absolute mess’ in parts of the region, and states of emergency are still in effect.

When will the power be turned on? According to area utility companies, crews are hard at work to get the lights back on to thousands.

Here is the latest information as it becomes available.

INNPOWER

Power was restored to 225 customers on the south side of Lockhart Road in Sandy Cove and expected to be restored to remaining customers overnight. The lights are back on in the Bear Creek and south Barrie areas Tuesday. The company says roughly 2,066 customers remain in the dark.

ALECTRA

The outage in Barrie is still affecting around 260 homes and businesses. Crews are working to restore power. No timeline was provided.

Most Gravenhurst urban customers can expect to have power restored by the end of the day – full restoration by Friday. Rural customers can hope for restoration by Friday and island customers might see repairs Friday and into next week.

Brock Township’s connection is waiting on reconnection from a loss of supply from Hydro One.

And power could be restored in Cannington by the end of day Tuesday.

LAKELAND POWER

Bracebridge has multiple widespread outages affecting roughly 1,000 homes and businesses. Crews are continuing to clear away safety concerns and restore power as they go. For some, the power should be back on this afternoon, while others could remain in the dark into Wednesday.
