Dunlop Street West reduced to one lane starting Monday for watermain work

Lane closures are in effect Monday on Dunlop Street West between Cedar Pointe Drive and Sarjeant Drive as crews continue work on the Highway 400 bridge replacement project.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s contractor says it will implement single lane closures in both eastbound and westbound directions starting at 7 a.m.

The closures are expected to remain in place until Fri., May 29 at 5 p.m.

The work is required to complete watermain installation on Dunlop Street and Cedar Pointe Drive as part of the province’s ongoing Highway 400 expansion and bridge replacement project in Barrie.

According to the City of Barrie website, drivers should also expect overnight interruptions and temporary closures at the Dunlop/Cedar Pointe and Dunlop/Sarjeant intersections.

The multi-year MTO project includes replacing and widening the Dunlop Street bridge over Highway 400, improving interchange ramps and resurfacing sections of the highway to support highway expansion.
