The combination of this week’s ice storm, melting ice, and heavy rain has flooded many roads across southern and central Ontario on Thursday.
The Town of Innisfil announced the closure of 7th Line between Quarry Drive and Wingrove Avenue and Webster Boulevard between Jans Boulevard and Forest Street.
The Town of Collingwood announced the closure of Cranberry Trail West at Highway 26 West and a portion of Sixth Street. They also stated that they are experiencing wastewater system issues.
Grey County announced the closure of Grey Road 31 from 12th Councession B to Osprey Clearview Towline and Osprey Clearview Townline from Grey Road 31 to County Road 91. Scenic Caves Road was closed at Blue Mountain Road, to Grey Road 119, to 4th line.
Several other roads in the region are reportedly closed as well.
The Town of Innisfil stated that they are addressing blockages in their drainage system to ensure that stormwater can flow properly.
Locals are advised to clear debris from ditches and culverts if possible, and to avoid going on flooded roads by foot or by vehicle.
