Lone dog found wandering on ice

Police in Barrie are searching for the owner of a dog who was found wandering alone on ice near Lakeview Terrace Saturday afternoon.

A spokesperson from the Barrie Police Service (BPS) told CTV News that the dog was found without tags and without an owner in sight.

After being located, the pup was reportedly safe in the hands of a Barrie Police officer.

“Anyone who has a pet that requires exercise, or a walk outdoors should consider reducing their exposure outside due to the frigid temperatures,” said Peter Leon from the BPS.

Anyone with information about the dog or its owner is urged to contact the BPS.
