Provincial police are investigating a fail-to-remain collision involving a child in Orillia.

Provincial police are investigating a fail-to-remain collision involving a child in Orillia.

According to police, a white Ford pickup truck travelling at a slow speed hit a child riding a bike on Penetang Street shortly after 3:30 Thursday afternoon.

Police say the child sustained minor injuries, but noted the truck left the scene heading towards West Street. It’s unclear whether the driver was aware he struck the child.

The driver is described as a white man with a long red beard, wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses.

Police ask anyone with information on the incident to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
