A hydro worker was threatened by an angry North Kawartha Township resident Wednesday.
The Peterborough County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a hydro worker saying he had just been threatened by a man in an SUV.
Officers spoke with the member of one of the crews working to restore power to the area.

“You’ve got to feel sorry for these people, they’re away from their families, working around the clock,” said OPP Const. Daniel Gay. “I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend 12 hours in the slush and snow.”
Gay said the hydro worker told police he was at the side of the road doing paperwork, when the SUV stopped.
The male driver said if the power wasn’t restored to his house by that evening, he would be coming after the hydro worker to cause him harm.
The hydro worker – although not wanting to proceed with charges – contacted the police to ensure it was reported.
“We’ve got to be a little patient and come together as a community now. We have to keep ourselves in check,” Gay said.
