Police arrested three individuals and charged each of them with more than a dozen assault, robbery, and weapons-related offences in what is being described as a ‘violent’ incident in Gravenhurst.

According to Bracebridge OPP, officers and emergency medical services responded to a call from a resident on Southwood Road at around 6:30 p.m. this past Thursday.

Police say a man showed up at that resident’s door asking for help after he had suffered harm at a nearby residence and was able to flee on foot to find help.

First responders reportedly tended to the escapee’s medical needs and ensured his safety.

Police say officers along with members of the Muskoka crime, tactics and rescue, and K9 units executed a search warrant at an involved address and arrested three suspects.

Two Gravenhurst men, a 26-year-old and a 33-year-old, were each charged with 13 offences.

The charges included forcible confinement, robbery using a firearm, assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle among others.

Another 52-year-old from Gravenhurst was charged with the same offences except failure to comply with a probation order and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

All three were held in custody and appeared in court on Saturday.
