Traffic stop ends in charges for Barrie passenger

One man is facing charges after a traffic stop on Dunlop Street in Barrie, results in an officer allegedly seeing an open can of alcohol and cannabis near the driver.

The incident happened on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. A Barrie Police officer says they pulled over the motor vehicle, saw the alleged substances and began an investigation.

The 18-year-old passenger allegedly had possession of methamphetamine and psilocybin and was charged with the following;

Possession of a schedule one substance – methamphetamine, possession of a schedule three substance psilocybin, and failing to comply with probation order.

The accused was released from custody and scheduled to appear before the courts at a later date.
