Vehicle stolen in broad daylight from Georgian Mall parking lot, police say

A vehicle was stolen in broad daylight from the Georgian Mall parking lot and dashcam footage from shoppers could help track it down, police say.

On Monday afternoon, Barrie police confirmed a white 2024 Honda CR‑V was taken from the east side of the Bayfield Street mall (Entrance 5).

The owner reported parking just after 1:15 p.m. before heading inside to shop. When he returned right before 3 p.m., the SUV was reportedly gone.

After searching the lot, he contacted police. Investigators say they were unable to find surveillance video from the area.

Officers are now asking anyone who was parked in the lot between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to review their dashcam footage.
