Up to 15cm of snow on the way as weather warnings blanket the region

Old man winter makes a harsh return to Simcoe County.

Here we go again.

Just as the first of the maple syrup of the season is starting to be boiled with the mild temperatures this week, another weather advisory has blanketed the region.

Environment Canada says an Alberta Clipper is headed to the region, bringing with it as much as 15 centimetres of snow depending on where you live.

Accumulations building up as fast as four centimetres per hour north of Barrie.

The weather agency says visibility will be significantly reduced during the snow and from the impending wind that follows.

The significant wind gusts are expected to continue into Saturday morning.

Nighttime lows are expected to reach in the negative twenties this weekend before returning to more seasonal by Monday.
