It was an afternoon meant to celebrate, innovate and motivate as the 2025 Women in Business award finalists were unveiled on Monday at Liberty North in Barrie.
“Today we honour and recognize the trailblazers, leaders and innovators among us, ensuring they receive the admiration and the spotlight that they deserve,” said KOOL FM on-air announcer, Amy Aust, who was joined by fellow on-air host Charlie, as emcees for the ceremony.
The annual event celebrates the outstanding achievements of women and female-led organizations making waves in Barrie’s business landscape and this year, it received a record number of nominations and acceptances – the biggest year yet.
“We have really strong female entrepreneurs and business leadership in Barrie. We celebrate that every year because we want more of that,” said Barrie Chamber of Commerce CEO Paul Markle.
“The Women in Business awards shines a spotlight on women who are shaping the city through innovation, leadership, social impact and fearless entrepreneurship,” added Markle.
Presented by Meridian and a long list of Barrie-based businesses, this year’s awards feature eight categories, each with three finalists.
Categories range from creative visionary to health care hero and even include awards for women in trade and young entrepreneur.
Winners will be announced at the Women in Business luncheon gala on March 7. Tickets are available, along with the list of esteemed nominees on the Barrie Chamber of Commerce website.
