‘A good exercise in letting go’: Paula Cole discusses ‘The Masked Singer’

Paula Cole discusses her upcoming show at Calgary’s Bella Concert Hall with Ian White.

When American singer and songwriter Paula Cole was asked to compete on The Masked Singer, she needed a little encouragement.

“I had never watched it, but my daughter urged me to give it a go, and they gave me this glorious costume,” the Grammy-award winner told CTV News.

Cole sang incognito in an elaborate ship costume, and says she enjoyed the experience, even though at first it was outside her comfort zone.

“That’s my problem. I take myself too seriously,” she said. “So, it was a good exercise in letting go.”

Cole and fellow 1990s singer/songwriter Sophie B. Hawkins perform at Calgary’s Bella Concert Hall on Oct. 27 as part of a western Canadian tour.

The I Don’t Want to Wait singer says she appreciates Canada, especially in today’s political environment.

“I can feel a difference even when I’m on an airplane headed to Canada, just the tolerance and kindness is exceptional.”
