Alberta Large Cars’ Christmas Cruise and Toy Drive ready to roll out

About 70 large cars and semi-trucks will be cruising around Lethbridge Friday evening to help spread some holiday cheer.

The fifth annual Christmas Cruise and Toy Drive, hosted by Alberta Large Cars, is set to get underway at 5:15 p.m.

The cruise begins at Southland International Trucks and heads south on 43rd Street before turning onto Mayor Magrath Drive and ending at the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre at 6:30 p.m.

Following the cruise, the trucks will remain in the parking lot for people to view.

Organizers are asking anyone who comes out to bring an unwrapped toy for this year’s Angel Tree Christmas Campaign.

“The word has been getting around in the trucking community, and the drivers really enjoy being a part of it—they look forward to it,” said Jackie Koch, Alberta Large Cars Christmas Cruise organizer.

“I get messages of, ‘Are we doing it again this year?’ So, it’s been really great and nice to see it growing and have that positive feedback and positive impact in the community.”

“There’s such a great need in Lethbridge that people aren’t aware of,” said Wendy Herbers, Angel Tree Christmas Campaign chair.

“We all go on with our lives all the time, but to see that support for our program, so that we can bring joy to some families, is just awesome.”

The holiday lights will also continue inside the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre with Glow Lethbridge.
