A northwest Calgary community got a surprise visit from a black bear Saturday morning. The bear was spotted by local resident Tom McCann traipsing down his back pathway at Hawktree Circle in the northwet Calgary community of Hawkwood. McCann said there were “about five police cars tracking it.” In a follow-up, McCann said the bear had headed to the cul de sac to the west of his home. “Police cars following,” he said. “He is a good distance in the city. Poor thing, must be going crazy. CTV News has reached out to the Alberta Fish and Wildlife for additional details.
