More warm weather for Calgary. Jodi Hughes has a look at the five-day forecast from the Sky Watch Weather Centre.

Warmer air will remain over Alberta for the next few days, enhancing melting and keeping temperatures well above seasonal.

In Calgary, west winds will peak at 30-50 km/h early Thursday, with a bit of a northerly influence later in the day.

Light and scattered snow is expected to continue throughout central and southern Alberta Thursday, moving from the northwest to the southeast, but potentially also including the southern foothills and Calgary.

Nocturnal lighting is possible overnight (a rare phenomenon for this time of year), due to the persistent pattern of warmer air remaining at the surface and colder air aloft.

A strong ridge of high pressure will support even warmer temperatures by the end of the weekend, with daytime highs two to 10 degrees warmer than average and daily lows 16 C above seasonal.

After Thursday conditions should remain mostly sunny, but stronger winds will be noticeable and, at times, make it feel slightly colder than the air temperature reads.
