HGTV’s Sarah Baeumler will headline the Calgary Fall Home Show when it returns this weekend — but officials say there’s also a “distinctly Calgary twist” to Saturday’s main stage speakers. The annual event features a marketplace with hundreds of booths, local home improvement experts and displays dedicated to remodeling, decorating, landscaping and design. Baeumler will take the stage at 6 p.m. on Friday for a presentation on designing a healthy home. “We’re so excited to welcome Sarah Baeumler to Calgary and give attendees the opportunity to hear directly from her about creating homes that are not only beautiful, but truly support the people living in them,” said Calgary Home Shows manager Alex Black. Baeumler will do an encore presentation at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Afterward, NHL Hall of Famer Lanny McDonald will join WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart with Pete the Plumber at 3 p.m. The presentation, called Built to Win: DIY Done Right, will be hosted by CJAY92’s JD Lewis. “The candid conversation will bring together two of Calgary’s best-known sports icons and one of the city’s home improvement experts to talk about home projects, DIY mishaps, and lessons learned along the way,” officials said in a news release. “From knowing when to tackle a project yourself to recognizing when it’s time to call in the pros, attendees can expect plenty of stories, laughs and practical advice.” The Calgary Fall Home show runs from 12 to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the BMO Centre.
