A house burned down early Saturday morning in southeast Calgary.

An investigation is underway following a house fire in the southeast Calgary community of Lynnwood early Saturday morning.

At around 12:35 a.m., the Calgary Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at the 100 block of Lynnview Crescent, where they were met by residents and a detached, single family home with smoke and flames coming out the back of the house.

The fire was spreading quickly from an outdoor deck to the rear of the house, a garage and a tree. Crews sent a second alarm, then deployed multiple hose lines and quickly brought the fire under control.

Residents of the house were able to exit on their own and no injuries were reported.

Damage to the home and property was significant. Crews remained on scene through the night, while investigators work to determine the cause of the fire.
