Calgary hit-and-run in Denny’s parking lot was result of road rage: police

Published:

Police say a crash involving two drivers at a Calgary Denny's restaurant was because of an argument between them.

Calgary police are investigating a Wednesday hit-and-run that injured a pedestrian, saying it was seemingly the result of road rage.

Officers were called to the parking lot of the Denny’s restaurant in the 5000 block of Fourth Street N.E. just before 2 p.m. for reports a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

Police say it happened after two drivers, embroiled in a road rage argument that started several blocks away, both pulled into the parking lot.

It’s alleged one of the drivers got out of his vehicle and was subsequently hit by the other vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV or dash-cam footage is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
